Tricia Walker - Nana Star Song
Singer/songwriter Tricia Walker is known for Grammy-winning songs, critically acclaimed performances and recordings (as both performer and producer), world tours, Grand Ole Opry appearances, and sold-out venues.
Along with achieving quick success as a songwriter, Tricia has a reputation as a first-call guitarist and vocalist for both studio and stage. She has traveled the world with two of Country’s most notable female artists: Connie Smith and Shania Twain. She is also a founding member of the Bluebird Café's now-legendary Women in the Round performance series. She's had songs recorded by countless artists, including Faith Hill, and a Grammy-winning single for Alison Krauss, "Looking in the Eyes of Love." Tricia’s song "What a Wonderful Day" has been adopted as an official anthem for cancer survivors throughout the world, and "The Heart of Dixie" has been featured on the Oxford American magazine’s annual Music Issue and CD.
A performer of the first rank, she delivers her songs in a relaxed, front-porch sort of way, singing of love and laughter, redemption and hope, grace and understanding.
Walker earned her Bachelors degree from Delta State University and a Masters degree from Mississippi College. She returned to Mississippi in 2006 to serve as director of the Delta Music Institute, a recording arts and music industry program at Delta State University.
